Our site’s visual design is based on a concept courtesy of Pierre Bellemare, a graphic designer and painter from Quebec City.
Mr. Bellemare says he feels happiest when his abstract art loses all landmarks and accomplishes something revolutionary. Having radically transformed his work over time, he now traces his inspiration exclusively to U2’s music. After seeing the band perform in Boston, Mr. Bellemare produced his first abstract work while in his studio listening to the concert’s set list through his headphones. His career has never been the same.
“The music of U2 has a catalytic effect, a power that propels me,” says the artist. “There’s a perpetual exchange, very intense, between the canvas and me while I create. U2′s music leaves me constantly out of my comfort zone. It allows me to dare, to rush, to give everything to the canvas until it comes to exist by itself, with its own energy.”
Elements of our site are from the full scale work below.
Bellemare’s work can be found in private and corporate collections around the world. For more information, please visit his website.
